Hanul Bahm is a multiplatform producer and content strategist based in California and Georgia. She works closely with commercial and editorial clients to solve problems: through strategy, data, and cultural expression.

I started my career in New York publishing, focusing on photography, magazines, and graphic design. Moving to San Francisco, I produced volumes of copy, content, and live events for the Bay Area cultural sector. In Los Angeles, I worked in live experiences, film, video, and multiplatform content, contributing to public media and institutions. Atlanta is where I picked up interactive design, business strategy, branding, and creative direction.

Along the way, I got my MFA in Film/Video from CalArts and BA in Photography, Graphic Design and Journalism from Rutgers University.

Through it all, I remain committed to people and the power of group processes. I also believe we owe ourselves continual reinvention, as the content media landscape and levers of commerce are ever-shifting.

Creatives are constantly tasked to plough through challenge. Every project reinforces our capacity to thrive or suffer through what can feel like a repeat stress test. My hope is to help teams savor the process, believe in themselves, and find triumph in completion.

A bit more about me
I had a childhood in Seoul while South Korea was still a developing country. My appreciation for resourcefulness and community life stems from here. I also had a childhood in Southern California’s South Bay. So many memories of playing outside and growing up in other people’s homes.

I love house music, soul music, and timeless music from any place, any era. I love working out and the sportsmanship and healing it affords. I love the big outdoors and big cities and small towns, too. It’d be nice to see more of God’s great earth.

People ask about my name sometimes. Hanul Bahm, or Bahm Hanul (밤 하늘) in Korean, means “night sky.” I was granted a freebie name change when up for U.S. citizenship. A few weeks before my ceremony, after night school at City College San Francisco, I felt the clouds, moon, and stars walking me home. That’s how I got my name.
